Then God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. Genesis 1:3
God fiercely speaks a thing and it becomes that thing.
Death and life are in the hand of the tongue, and those that love it will eat its fruit. Proverbs 18:21
To be “in one’s hand” is to be under one’s control. James would say no man can tame his own tongue, basically we can't keep our mouth shut. The Psalmist asks for the Lord to set a guard over his mouth and keep watch at the door to his lips. That sounds like a good plan to me. Lord, set a guard, put your hand over my mouth if I am about to speak something that will not honor You and Your great name.
Lesson 17: FIERCE SPEECH brings life or death by the words that spill forth from my own mouth and I will have to eat the fruit of what I said. What is the seed my words are planting? Do I really want to reap that fruit? Will my words bring light for others?
Get ready the next few days are all about Fierce Light.
