LESSON 15: FIERCE ROAR

"The lion has roared; who will not fear? The Lord GOD has spoken; who can but prophesy?”  Amos 3:8

God has spoken, roared, in many ways and through many people over history.   His final roar is Jesus, the divine message of and from the Father.

On many past occasions and in many different ways, God spoke to our fathers through the prophets. But in these last days He has spoken to us by His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, and through whom He made the universe. Hebrews 1:1-2

Jesus is not a prophet or teacher, although He is those things.  At His core being, Jesus is God Almighty.  Jesus exactly represents God to all the realms.

"Lesser things, if allowed more focus, take a bigger place than the greater and more important things." David Guzik commentary on Hebrews 1:5

God fiercely roars, calling mankind to come and repent, turn back to the Living God.  Sadly many lack the fear of God necessary and continue operating out of a humanistic understanding and knowledge of good and evil.

It takes courage to repent and receive a new nature, to be transformed by renewing the mind, to take a bite from the tree of life, which is Christ Jesus, the Lion of the tribe of Judah (Revelation 5:5 perspective) also known as the Lamb who was slain (Revelation 5:6, John's/man's perspective).

Jesus is the lion, symbolizing power, fierceness, majesty.  Unafraid of His enemies, protecting His own pride (you know, like a pride of lions).  It is better to experience His help and protection than to deny His kingship and face His ultimate fierce roar - I never knew you.

In the fierce roar is a fierce calling from the heart of fierce love.  Come, answer the invitation to repent, to turn at the sound of His roar and become part of His pride.

Jesus is worthy.  His sacrifice is still fresh and current before God's throne, His sacrifice is eternally effectual before God.

Come to the throne of grace. Now! His sacrifice is always ready to pour out over those He is calling, to pour out and cover the offset toward Him, to pour out and wash one clean.

Lesson 15: God's FIERCE ROAR is a calling, an invitation to come, repent, become part of the pride of the Lion of Judah.
