With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And God’s grace was so powerfully at work in them all. Acts 4:33
Fierce - strong, burning, intense, bold
Fierce is not an easily contained, feel good word. It is full of emotion and intensity. It carries a wildness that cannot be contained. The apostles could not contain the burning power inside of them. It continually overflowed in testimony to the resurrection of Jesus. They were bursting to share the good news.
I am convicted. Where is my eagerness? Where is the burning in my soul and spirit to tell others - JESUS IS THE RESURRECTED KING. Jesus longs to resurrect us from the land of the dead!
Jeremiah knew about that burning, fierce drive...it compelled him.
But if I say, “I will not mention his word or speak anymore in his name,” his word is in my heart like a fire, a fire shut up in my bones. I am weary of holding it in; indeed, I cannot. Jeremiah 20:9
God's word, His very name burned like a fire shut up in Jeremiah's bones, he became weary from trying to hold it in.
Word of the Living God, burn in me. I only ever want to speak what the Father speaks. Check out John 8:28, "So Jesus said, “When you have lifted up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am he and that I do nothing on my own but speak just what the Father has taught me." If Jesus would only speak what the Father taught Him, how much more should I do the same.
Lesson Two: WORD OF GOD SPEAK, this fierce warrior woman is listening for the fierce testimony You would have me carry for those in need.
