The word for March is "Consume". The dictionary definition is to destroy or expend by use; to eat or drink up, devour; so spend wastefully; to absorb, engross. The Hebrew word, akal, encompasses all of those definitions. As the month flows consume scriptures will be reminders of: eating - God is the source of life; fellowship - shared meals, unity, sacred feasts; holiness - daily habits are avenues of worship; stewardship - vigilance against sins consuming effects.
I read, "teachers must first "eat (consume) the scroll" so that teaching flows from a life nourished by God's Word. Human life, physical and spiritual, thrives only when it feeds (consumes) on God's faithful provision." biblehub.com
The title of the artwork below is "Table of Sonship" - "At His table all are welcome. In His Presence we are family. Sons and daughters of the Most High. Remember who you are. Remember what He has done for you. Live in communion with Christ. Do this in remembrance of Him. Covered by His blood. Broken to be a blessing." Chris Gortney
The colors are significant: yellow represents hope and light; blue is heaven, revelation; white is purity, holiness; the people wearing green represent eternal life, healing; those wearing blue symbolize identity; those wearing red stand for anointing, power, blood of Jesus. The table is set with bread and wine, communion, take and eat, do this in remembrance of me. The roses on the table represent the presence of God's sacrificial love. The grapes represent God's mercy and covenant faithfulness, He is the vine and we are His branches, so they also represent spiritual fruitfulness.
This image was given to me during a sermon by my pastor, Chris Gortney, in February of 2025. I painted it at a day of prayer called Meet Me at the Altar in March of 2025. It was meant to be a corporate gathering, however, inclement weather kept us home that day. God used the weather to set many in our body up for a day with Him in their own homes. While I painted one of my grandsons sat at my feet with His own canvas. I do not want to forget these moments.
May you pull up to the table daily and open the word of God and consume what is offered. May you allow God's message to consume you with a hunger for more. May you daily see yourself seated at the Table of Sonship.
