I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers, that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in your knowledge of Him.
I ask that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you may know the hope of His calling, the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints, and the surpassing greatness of His power to us who believe. These are in accordance with the working of His mighty strength, Ephesians 1:16-19
Spirit of wisdom and revelation in your knowledge of Him. This phrase plays in my mind..
Fear of the LORD is the foundation of true wisdom. All who obey his commandments will grow in wisdom. Praise him forever! Psalm 111:10
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. Proverbs 9:10
Revelation in my:
Knowledge of Him - experiential, relational
Knowledge of the Lord is understanding - a God-giving ability to grasp implications of truth; to choose wisely in light of God's revelation.
What is revelation? It is an uncovering, a disclosure, an unveiling.
Paul is asking the Father that:
My eyes would be enlightened to know the HOPE of His calling, the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints.
The working of His mighty strength that looks like me being raised with Christ from the dead, seated with Him at God's right hand in heavenly realms, above all.
It is Av 28 and I read my daily devotion for today: "..the soul can't always catch up with what the Spirit is doing."
I feel that way today.
Lesson Eleven: God is calling me deeper into FIERCE PRAYER for wisdom and revelation, for uprooting old thought processes and restarting/reinstating His kingdom in me, shifting me to a fuller Kingdom of Heaven perspective.
In all this I am also reminded of the seven spirits of God (Revelation 1:4) and Isaiah 11:2: And the Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the LORD.
So I pray.
